It's possible for tutors to pick up starting kits for their tutees. Since there are a few steps involved that need to be followed closely, we've made this page with step-by-step instructions for both the tutor and tutee. By following these steps, the tutor is never required to loan the deposit to their tutee - the tutee makes the deposit payment on their end, for example from abroad.

To rent a starting kit, the tutee needs to be a member of ESN FINT. Students can become a member if they are accepted as student or an intern in the Pirkanmaa region. This can be proven by the letter of acceptance. In general, if the tutee has been appointed a tutor, they have been accepted to study at TUNI.

IMPORTANT: Since the tutee probably doesn't have an @tuni.fi email address to sign up to kide with, they will have to use their personal email address and verify their membership with their letter of acceptance. You cannnot continue to the next step until the tutee's membership is active on kide.app > wallet > memberships.

Now that the tutor has made sure the tutee's membership is verified, they agree on a pickup time for the starting kit. Starting kits are handed out during the clubroom hours.

When the tutor is in the clubroom to pick up the kit, the tutee needs to be online and reachable on WhatsApp or Telegram by ESN FINT.

This is the pickup day! Make sure the tutee is online on WhatsApp or Telegram.

On the pickup day, the steps will be as follows:

1. Tutor visits the clubroom and tells the board member they are picking up a kit for their tutor

2. Board member checks that the tutee is a member in the membership registry

3. Board member contacts tutee on WhatsApp or Telegram to verify that they will be able to make the payment

4. Tutor gets handed the starting kit(s) and checks that all items are present and in good condition on behalf of the tutee.
   The tutee is responsible to return all items in good
   condition upon return. The tutor is never to be held responsible.

5. The tutee will be sent a link to pay for the starting kits. They have to pay:

   1. The service fee of €5

   2. The deposit of €20 for each starting kit borrowed (min €20, max €40)

6. The rent will be activated after the payment is complete, the kit(s) will be handed over to the tutor. Tutor makes sure the kit(s) are marked as taken.

That's it! Now the kit is rented out successfully. Upon return, the tutee will receive the deposit back to their original payment method.
